The Chultan Peninsula is the dominant area of southwest Faerûn, with an undeserved reputation of being a backward place with a lack of civilization and homing savages. It has several large cities with stable governments, all containing very vibrant and vast cultures. The Mhair Jungles mark the east end of the peninsula.

It is a large, titular sea that is connected to the Sea of Fallen Stars. The shoreline is a wild frontier that is home to several city states dominated by despots. There is no central capital. The Moonsea is not necessarily considered a safe place and as such, its settlers were driven and independent.

| The Vast is a region in north Faerûn and it rests along the northern coast of the Sea of Fallen Stars. The Dragon Reach and River Lis are in the west, the Earthspur Mountains, Gray Forest, and Impiltur to the east. The Moonsea and Damara is to the north of the Vast. It lays on both sides of the Earthfast Mountain that run through it.
